KILGORE - Firefighters responded to a house fire around 11:00 this morning at 408 Bailey Street in Kilgore. They say it was a much older structure that caught fire.

There was one person home at the time but officials say no one was hurt. While the homeowner was too upset to talk, her neighbor was glad she drove by the house when she did. Estell Mumphrey said, "I'm the one who dialed 911. I came down Baker Street, stopped at my sister's house and I saw a flame coming out of the ceiling of the roof. The house was gushing flames. I've known Mrs. Canteberry all my life."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
