Veteran officer survived by wife and five children

Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; An off-duty 16-year Houston Police Department veteran died in a traffic accident during the weekend.

Amado Huerta, 44, was driving his maroon Honda Goldwing motorcycle on the South Freeway when a silver Pontiac Grand Am made an unsafe lane change into Huerta's lane and struck his motorcycle.
