hughes springs — A Hughes Springs teacher was arrested Friday morning, accused of having an improper relationship with a student.

Police issued a warrant and arrested Karrie McKinney, 41, after a lengthy investigation.

The elementary teacher was alleged involved with a 16-year old boy that attends Hughes Springs High School.

McKinney is charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second degree felony.

The teacher was released on a $25,000 bond Friday.
