Humane Society of Northeast Texas to reopen Saturday
Longview, TX — The Humane Society of Northeast Texas has received the test results. The puppy did not have distemper and is believed to have died from an Upper Respiratory Infection.
It left the shelter on September 30th and we were already well beyond the incubation time if it would have been distemper.
The puppy room, where the animal was housed, has been deep cleaned for the last three days after all remaining puppies were moved to an isolation area.
None of the animals show any signs of illness.
The shelter will reopen tomorrow, Saturday the 15th at 10 am.
Again, we closed as a precaution and to do the necessary decontamination. As it turns out, it was NOT a case of distemper or any other contagious disease.
