There is a state-wide program "Hunters for the Hungry" that provides protein and a meal for people and families in need.

KETK visited a local market in Tyler, Lynch's Meat Mart, the only meat market in East Texas that processes meat to donate.

Joe Lynch, store owner of Lynch's Meat Mart, works with with East Texas hunters. He invited KETK into his kitchen and tells us about the process receiving game from the hunters.

Once the meat is prepared, it's shipped to the East Texas Food Bank and Salvation Army.

The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies manages "Hunters for the Hungry". Their goal is to partner up with organizations with approved sites that are able to process and donate meat.

The program has served the community for many years and has been successful. Volunteers, Lynch's Meat Mart, and food-providing organizations are making it happen.
