Hutchison Considering Run for Governor
Associated Press
September 25, 2008 - 4:56pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - Congressional sources tell The Associated
Press that Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has told colleagues she is
planning to form a committee to explore a run for governor.
Hutchison aide Marc Short is declining comment to the AP.
The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because
Hutchison has not made an official announcement. But they said she
has informed Texas Republican delegation members and others on
Capitol Hill of her plans.
Hutchison previously has said she does not plan to run for
re-election to the Senate when her current third term ends in 2012.
She has all but declared that she is running for governor in 2010.
