Duck season ends today

Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Get your final duck calls in, because January 27, 2013 at sunset, duck season is offically over. Youth Waterfowl and regular gun season started between October and November of 2012.

KETK spoke with some hunters on this final duck-day, and many of them said they woke up early this season to get a good mallard or banded duck. But 14 year-old Colby Elkins, a duck hunter since the age of 4, says this season was great even on his afternoon hunts, he says, "Best ever because I got my banded duck, lots of afternoon hunts after school, which are really a lot better; a lot in the afternoon were a lot better than in the morning time for me, and shoot, it's just been a good year!"
