The 2008 storm caused at least $20 million worth of damage to the Galveston museum

The Houston Chronicle is reporting; The Hurricane-Ike battered Lone Star Flight Museum is getting a new home on higher ground.

The 2008 storm caused at least $20 million worth of damage to the Galveston museum, which houses more than 40 vintage aircraft.

The museum's prized collection is moving from the island’s Scholes Airport to Ellington Field in the Clear Lake-area. Developers hope to have the museum open by spring 2016.
