Illegal Alien Controversy

Arizona sheriff goes over the line

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona is no stranger to controversy, and now Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, has said when it comes to illegal immigrants…he’ll need to change his tactics…

Whether it’s keeping inmates in tents or rounding up illegals, sheriff joe arpaio of maricopa county arizona knows how to make news…

Arpaio told CNN, "That's just the open border people and certain politicians in Washington and locally who do not want me enforcing the illegal immigration laws."

He has now roused the ire of Homeland Security Secretary, and former Arizona Governor, Janet Napolitano for illegal immigrant sweeps that washington says go over the line from law enforcement to profiling…but, Arpaio defends his actions…

"That's just the open border people and certain politicians in washington and locally who do not want me enforcing the illegal immigration laws," He said in the TV appearance.

New guidelines for local law enforcement stipulate they must concentrate on those illegals who actually commit crimes. For local police and sheriff’s officers, that won’t mean any change at all.
That’s because, that’s all they’ve ever been empowered to do…

Officer Don Martin of the Tyler Police Department told KETK news, "Our goal is we're going to arrest people for violating the law. We're not going to profile anyone. If they broke the law, they broke the law and they'll go to jail for it."

Martin continued, "If it's determined through the investigation or the process of them being investigated that they are here illegally then that would be up to someone else to determine if something else would happen to them, and that would be the federal authorities."

Arpaio says though, he won’t be making any changes…

"But I'm going to fool them all," He responded, "Because I'm still going keep doing the same thing i've been doing, and now I won't have to worry about the feds with all their policies looking over my shoulder."

Would you travel all the way to San Antonio if you knew that there were no hotels available? You would probably stay at home wouldn't you? If illegal aliens knew for a fact that the U.S. employers would uphold the law and NOT HIRE THEM then that would diminish their desire to come here. The temptation is too great to pass up. Punish the illegals but also punish the EMPLOYERS.
