Illegals and health care

WASHINGTON-A group of house democrats is once again stirring up the health care reform pot. They're arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and even allow illegal immigrants access as well.

Coverage for illegals is one of the thorniest issues in the health care debate. But its one thorn that can't be avoided.

Some house dems are saying there is no sense not having illegals in the health care system because when they go to emergency rooms we end up paying for their care anyway.

More than two dozens congressman recently sent two letters to key players in the reform debate in both the house and the senate laying out the demands.

Some of these demands include elimination of the five year waiting period for legal immigrants in the medicaid program and opposing the recent senate proposal that would bar illegal immigrants from buying unsubsidized health insurance coverage.

if mexico was the land of opportunity,and we wanted to go there because we were hungry,poor,etc, we would have to go there legally,learn their language,conform to their ways and rules....unlike what our panty-waist government allows them to do here.it is a screwed up system,but if everyone did their part,and put into it what they want out of it,it would work better all the way around!!!

Finally we have some informed comments. Many people that detest immigrants do not know the facts and making ignorant comments based solely on prejudice and nothing else. Many people go through great efforts to become legalized. These people do not want to live in the shadows. Many people struggle to get by on little they earn. I have seen individuals from New Summerfield working at plant farms since 1987 and only making $8.00 per hour. There are many illegal immigrants that DO PAY TAXES which they will never claim. Ironically there are many AMERICAN politicians that DO NOT PAY TAXES - why don't you get mad at them? We have a local legislator that use illegal immigrant labor to remodel his kitchen and then he would go to the Capitol and blame immigrants for all our problems. This legislator should think about that when he is sipping coffee on his new granite countertops. MANY PEOPLE drain the healthcare system - not just immigrants. Look at all the uninsured smokers that suffer complications from their toxic habit and then we pay for their hospital stay and cancer treatment. What about a woman that has several children by several diffrent men and then we pay for her prenatal care and delivery and Medicaid and free lunch for each child. Next time you visit the grocery store - look at grocery carts - nobody eats healthy - they load up on chips, soda, candy, processed foods, frozen pizza and junk. Those individuals will result in a triple bypass surgery with no medical insurance or live with diabetes. All tax payers will cover their cost regardless of which country they were born. I notice that DAVID stated that he fought for tax paying AMERICANS. I wonder if David fought on American soil? I am certain the DAVID fought also for the interest of other countries who had little respect or appreciation for the United States of America.
Illegal DOES MEAN ILLEGAL - for example when East Texas employers hire someone and the deliberatly do not verify their eligibility then the EMPLOYER is committing an ILLEGAL act. One guy that called into KTBB stated that he worked with illegal immigrants at the rose nursery. That gentleman should have called ICE if he saw a violation of the law - he was just as guilty as his employer or the illegal employee - ICE has a toll free number 1-866-DHS-2-ICE. If you see any suspicious activity then call it in FOR FREE.
What would you do if you were born in another country with less opportunities?
You are fortunate that you just happened to be born here.
If you have all this hate and anger then please DO NOT GO TO CHURCH because that will make you an automatic hypocrite - if you claim to know God but you actions words - Read Matthew 15:11 "Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." - you can say it is free speech but it is still hate and disdain.
Here are some more illegal activities - Driving While Intoxicated is illegal - yet the dry County of Smith has so many DWI clogging up our court system - DO NOT BE ALL HIGH AN MIGHTY ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE BREAKING THE LAW WHEN YOU DO AND YOUR NEIGHBORS DO IT TOO.
KTBB SHOULD OFFER AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS THE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS RATHER AND JUST BLAME THE PRESIDENT FOR EVERYTHING - IT IS NOT TALK RADIO IF ALL YOU TALK ABOUT IS NEGATIVE. RALLY THE COMMUNITY TO DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE - ADOPT BETTER HABITS.

The people that talk so bad about illegal alies, do not understand the process that goes on to become legal. If anybody would take the time to learn how dificult it is to come to America legally, and they were in a country about to die due to the lack of food and shelter, then they may understand the real facts. Also, there are many people who did NOT have a choice but to come to this country, like students who their parents brought them here, I know many who have graduated high school and college and yet there is no hope for them, we need to solve those problems first. As Americans we need to learn all the facts about every side before we just talk about people. There is so many people that are white, black and hispanic who are legal and are taking advantage of the system and we dont complain about them do we? I dont think its the illegals that get most of the benefits, its the legal lazy ones that dont want to keep a job, they are happy with the governments fund. Everyone that lives in this country pays taxes one way or another, sales tax, property tax, FICA, and many more taxes that are out there. Lets THINK before we a TALK.

I am so tired of "Christian" people screaming so loud against "illegals" I want to ask all of you that have children... "If the United States had no jobs and you had no way to feed your family, what would you do to survive? What if Mexico became the land of opportunity? It is wrong to hate! Unless you are an American Indian native, we all came here at some time seeking a better life. I agree that there needs to be a better way to stop the "bleeding" but hate should not play a role. And to those that served us so well in the military... Jesus did not come to save the tax payers or the United States citizens! He came for all of us.
