Independence day events around East Texas

(KETK) — There's a always something going on in East Texas for Independence Day whether it's food, fun, or fireworks. We compiled a list of upcoming events for this 4th of July weekend.
Bullard: Blast Over Bullard is being held at Bullard High School at 6:00 p.m. on July 3. The event is free and will have food and drink, all ages activities, a live performance by Stevie Jo Rosenbalm and fireworks later in the night.
The Dewberry Plantation is hosting a reading of the Declaration of Independence July 4th, at 5:00 p.m. The event is free to attend and will be preceded and followed by live music. A tour of the plantation will follow the event but an $8 donation fee is asked for those that stay.
Tyler: Lago Del Pino will have a fireworks show on July 4th. There will be a hamburger and hot dog buffet starting at 11 a.m. Live music starts at 8 p.m. and fireworks begin after sunset. Tickets are $25 for adults(13 and up), $12 for kids 6-12 and kids under 5 are free.
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church is having the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular starting at 6:00 p.m. at the church. There will be an armed forces tribute, giveaways, free food, bungee jumping and face painting. Country duo Branded will play at 7:00 p.m. as well as performances by Illusionist Joe Schmidt throughout the night.
New Harmony Baptist Church is having their annual fireworks show on the 4th starting at 6:00 p.m.
Lindsey Park will have a free fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5th. Concessions at the park open at 3:00 p.m. and parking is free.
Saturday, July 5th, Lake Tyler Petroleum Club will have fireworks and live music on the Harbor Landing Deck from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Whitehouse: The city is having Independence in the Park at Whitehouse City Park from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th. There will be live music and a BBQ cookoff followed by fireworks at 9:00 p.m.
Winona: Winona FBC will host at the high school softball and baseball fields starting at 7 p.m. July, 4th. There will be water slides, a motorcycle show, free hot dogs and a fireworks show.
Henderson: The City of Henderson Fireworks Display will be Friday, July 4th, at 9:30 p.m. at Lake Forest Park.
Gladewater: The Annual Boat Parade contest will be at Lake Gladewater, Thursday, July 3rd, at 8 p.m.
Longview: The Freedom Celebration and Fireworks Festival will be at the Maude Cobb Convention center on Friday, July 4th. There will be activities throughout the day and a variety of entertainment including vendors and a hot dog eating contest. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 11:00 p.m. An indoor concert will be held at Maude Cobb featuring Neal McCoy and Holly Tucker at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks will be held that night.
Athens: Freedom Fest is being held Athens Life Fellowship church Friday, July 4th, at 5 p.m
Lufkin: Lufkin is hosting its annual Independence Day celebration at Ellen Trout Park Friday, July 4th, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. The Ellen Trout Zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The park will have a rock wall, live entertainment, slides, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, zoo railroad and more all ages activities. L.I.S.D will be providing shuttle buses from Lukin High School from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and returning after the event. Fireworks will be at 9:15 p.m.
Groveton: Trinity County Chamber of Commerce and the Groveton Lions Club are hosting a 4th of July celebration at the Trinity County Fairgrounds. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. and will have live music, sack races and other activities, ending with fireworks at 9:00 p.m.
Lake Fork: The 2014 Lake Fork Independence Day Fireworks and Golf Cart Parade will be held at the Oak Ridge Marina Saturday, July 5th. The event kicks off with BBQ at 6:00 p.m. and other activities leading up to the Golf Cart Parade at 8:00 p.m. The Fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.
Nacogdoches: Freedom Fest will be held at Festival Park starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and begins with a hot dog eating contest.
Palestine: 12th Annual Fireworks Show will be taking place at Steven Bennett Park. Concessions start at 5:00 p.m. and fireworks start at dark.
