SMITH COUNTY-- Several drivers are at a standstill on Interstate 20 just east and west of Highway 69.  A Department of Public Safety official says the cause is numerous wrecks on the interstate.

He says one of the wrecks involved a truck with hazardous chemicals.  Truck drivers we spoke with say they had been waiting at least an hour for interstate traffic to pick back up.

DPS officials says traffic in the east bound lane is still moving slowly and is shut down at times.
