Flint, TX (KTBB) — A man has been hospitalized after attempting to break into a house in Smith County.

It happened in the early morning hours on Saturday in Flint.

9-1-1 received the call around 1:30 am.

Officers were dispatched to the Pine Trail Shores area, where they found a homeowner fighting with an intruder.

The intruder was restrained and taken to a Tyler hospital with severe injuries. He was later arrested.

His name is not being released at this time.

Smith County officials are investigating the incident.
