Is President Obama stepping over the line
September 2, 2009 - 10:43pm
TYLER THE PRESIDENT IS PLANNING A SPEECH NEXT WEEK THAT WILL BE ANOTHER FIRST FOR HIS ADMINISTRATION. THE SPEECH WILL ADDRESS EDUCATION AND IS DIRECTED AT SCHOOL CHILDREN. THE TARGET AUDIENCE IS WHAT HAS DRAWN SOME MIXED REACTION.

the republicans need to step back and realise that when bush took office the clintins had left this country with no debt and money in the bank for the first time in history, then bush takes over and destroys us with his policies, now oboma is doing the best he can to get this country back on track, and the republicans are wanting to blame him for the troubles we face, wake up america. we desperatly need a goverment option in health care also.

6 months agoHeck, I'm way over the age of 18 and don't understand this "political stuff", either. I think the government - and it's supporters - should not be involving themselve in MY life.
I don't think he will be overstepping the line, unless he sits and reads the book "My Pet Goat" while terrorists attack New York and Washington DC. I hope that doesn't happen, ever!

6 months agoIt doesn't matter if you support our president or not, your children have the right to have their own beliefs and views. They do not have to agree with your beliefs. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean they should be sheltered from it. For one the speech isn't even going to be political so what are you so worried about? What is so bad about letting your child listen to a speech about education?

6 months agoThe education of our youth is very important and their are so many of the students who are not wanting to attend school and will drop out--the need encouragement. I think it is a great thing that the President is following up on one of his stated goal on the need for education and pushing education. Those who are opposed are small minded people who would do the things that they are accusing the President of and he has not done anything. I feel they are being oppositional just to be oppositional and I feel they do not care about the student at large, but there own agenda. Supporter of the President.

7 months agoRespectfully I would have to say yes that they are stepping over the line, I do not think that the goverment should involve any child under the age of 18 and my childern will not be involved due to their young age (they do not understand all of this political stuff)

6 months agoIt's amazing that the most important position of this country can not address the kids of this country concerning the importance of staying of in school. Because of the political affiliation of this President, many kids will miss out on an encouraging speech. It's amazing of the hypocrisy of some people. I don't beleive that President Bush's address to the children of America was received with such vicious attack.
I wonder why?

6 months agoI for one will not allow my daughter to begin a "liberal indoc" at the place where she is supposed to go to learn. If WR shows the speach, mine will stay home from school that day.
