Tyler TX (KETK) — The temperature has been in the 80s this week and we are inching closer and closer to summer.
And when the weather gets this warm, all the bugs are coming out.
We asked some East Texans what bug...bugs them the most.
"Gnats and the flies right now. Flies are biting, gnats are everywhere."
"Mosquitoes. The little brown tiny spiders the red ants, love the red ants."
And the list, goes on.
The weather is getting hotter and the bugs are coming out.
"This is my busiest time because this is where most of the insect population is active and they are active usually in warm weather," said owner of Alpha Pest Control Dennis Newberry.
Newberry has been in the pest control business for more than 30 years.
Newberry says every day and every year it's a different task.
Bugs change their behavior and he has to adapt to them.
He says the worst insect to deal with though is bees.
Especially the killer ones.
"When they get into a tree or are a threat to people, children or pets sometimes we take those and we have to take them out."
Another big bug problem that affects homeowners all year especially during the spring and summer is termites.
"I see some black bugs in this window right here and I was scared. I didn't know what they were," said homeowner Carrie Curley.
Curley has lived in the same house since 1979.
She says she is used to seeing the usual mosquitos and ants this time of year, but termites, not so much.
"When it come to termites, I'm not to cool with that. I never want to deal with that. I wasn't involved, so I'm getting it solved," said Curley.
