"This is the fifth season for the Dream Team. It's the best players in the coverage areas of the Longview News-Journal and the Tyler Morning Telegraph. It's a way to kickoff the football season. Our Defensive MVP is Demarkus Lathan, linebacker from Longview. He had 188 tackles last season. Head coach John King calls him one of the best he's ever coached. Our Offensive MVP is Greg Ward, John Tyler quarterback. Phenomenal athlete. He put up video game numbers, over 5,000 yards and over 50 touchdowns. "
