Jack Stallard, Andrew Black and the Play of the Week

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 6:09pm

Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

He talked with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about this Friday's game between #3 Kilgore and red-hot Chapel Hill.

Stallard talked about the Ragin' Red.

"Kilgore is on a roll. This is a good football team. They run the ball. It's old school pound the football. They're averaging eight yards per carry. They've scored 32 touchdowns on the ground. They've got four kids with 200 yards rushing. They just run the ball and dare you to stop them. Nobody's done it so far."

What about the Chapel Hill thrill?

"They've had losses to Whitehouse, Carthage and Gilmer. Those teams are a combined 20-and-1. Chapel Hill is not losing to bad teams. Quarterback Andrew Black has passed for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. He's rushed for 1,700 yards and 12 more touchdowns. If Kilgore can slow him down it should go Kilgore's way. Should be a good game either way."

Andrew Black is the Chapel Hill quarterback.

He had the Friday Football Fever Play of the Week because the quarterback did not throw a pass.

He threw a block.
