He talked with KETK about Kilgore's good start and Longview's long rivalry with Marshall.

"This is the rivalry in East Texas. Longview-Marshall is number one. They started playing each other in 1909. Longview has won 11 in a row. In 2007, Maxim Magazine named this the 14th nastiest rivalry in all sports. In 2009, Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine named it in their list of the things we love about Texas football. Statewide, nationwide, everybody knows about Longview-Marshall."

On Kilgore... "The Bulldogs are playing well especially on defense. The offense is OK but it's lights out on defense. Kilgore's on a roll. They're in the top ten. I look for good things from the Bulldogs for the rest of the season."
