Jack Stallard predicts Rangers will trade for new pitcher
Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.
He told KETK's Danny Elzner the Rangers will trade for a new pitcher.
Stallard said, "The Angels went out in the off-season and made a ton of moves to try and catch the Rangers. They've fallen behind them the last couple of years. The Angels did a lot of stuff. For Texas to still be four games ahead of them after the All-Star break, that's good for the Rangers. They could use another starting pitcher. One of the top guys is Cole Hamels of the Phillies. Zach Greinke is out there. Those two guys are the names mentioned most. Either one of those would be a good fit for the Rangers. It depends on what you want to give up. If there's an organization stockpiled enough in the minors to go and make a move like that, it's the Rangers. I look for them before the trading deadline, before it has to happen, that the Rangers will get in there and get them another pitcher. It'll be a battle for the end just like it has been."
