Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked Stallard about Jason Garrett.

Could this be Garrett's final season with the Cowboys?

Stallard said...

"Jerry Jones is 71-years-old. At some point Jerry is going to think the window of opportunity for the Cowboys to get to the playoffs is closing. Eight and eight might not be good enough. If the Cowboys don't make the playoffs, I think Jason Garrett is gone."

What about Tony Romo?

"You're dealing with a 34-year-old quarterback who has been beaten up in the past. Romo had some great numbers last year before he went down with an injury. Tony Romo is not the problem for the Cowboys. If they can run the football, they've got some pieces around him. They drafted some offensive linemen. Dez Bryant is turning into a star. DeMarco Murray is an emerging star. If they can keep Romo off his backside they'll be all right. The defense was horrible last year. If they don't have to score 35 points a game to win, Tony Romo will be fine."
