Longview, TX (KETK)  He's the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

Jack Stallard talked with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about the next round of the state baseball playoffs.

Stallard said, "Some great baseball going on this weekend. Spring Hill and Gilmer, I don't know there's a lot of hatred between them. The coaches are relatively new. Any time you're a district rival and you're playing this deep in the playoffs, there is an edge.  This will be the fourth time they've met. Some battle-tested teams. This ought to be a lot of fun. They'll play all three games at Pine Tree starting at 7:00 Friday.

Then, you've got Hallsville and Whitehouse.  They're going to play at 7:00 at Mike Carter Field in Tyler. Both teams have swept their series leading in. Hallsville beat Royce City and Mansfield Summit. Whitehouse beat Red Oak and Sulphur Springs. They're on a roll. Rodney Gideon from Hallsville has signed with Texas A&M. Patrick Mahomes from Whitehouse, everyone is looking at him for football and baseball. Should be a great series."
