Longview, TX (KETK)  He's the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

Jack Stallard spoke with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about Barry Bowman joining Pine Tree as defensive coordinator and Mark Sartain joining Spring Hill as head coach.

On Bowman, Stallard said, "This is a great pick up for the Pirates. Things are moving in the right direction at Pine Tree. They were competitive last year. They changed up a lot of things on offense. They might move into a new stadium this season. You add Barry Bowman as a defensive coordinator. All he's got to do is show off his three state championship rings that he won at Daingerfield. That's instant credibility. The kids will want to play for him. It's going to be a lot of fun at Pine Tree."

On Sartain, Stallard said, "A great pick up for the Panthers. They're looking for stability. This will be the third head coach there since 2010. Coach Sartain is a great coach. He coached at ETBU. He led Trinity Valley to a conference championship. He was part of a national championship there as a coordinator. He was very successful at White Oak. He's been successful at every level."
