(KETK) - Jacksonville Tx — The city of Jacksonville held an informal, public meeting Wednesday afternoon.
It was to allow members of the community to voice their concerns with city leaders, the biggest issue, being the Yum Yum's restaurant wreckage downtown.
More than a dozen business owners and citizens were on hand, and wanted answers concerning why the area has not been cleared yet.
According to the city, the property is still owned by Robert Lane, owner of Yum Yums, and the city cannot get involved in private matters.
They will however, hold a hearing on October 8th, where, according to city officials, actions will be taken, whether to administer a fine, or get demolition started.
The city plans to have more open air, public workshops in the very near future, and invites anyone in Jacksonville to attend.
