Tyler, Tx (KETK) — A Jacksonville College athlete was taken by medical crews to a nearby hospital after an unspecified incident Friday afternoon.

According to multiple college athletic social media accounts, Khadijah Carter, of Goodrich, had to be carted off the court and left the Region 14 Tournament at UT-Tyler in an ambulance.

The injury happened in the second half when she fell while going up for the ball.

She is awake, alert, has feeling everywhere and was asking the score of the game at a local hospital, according to an anonymous college athletic director.
