Jacksonville College has a brand new look.

And they'e got some new technology to help educate their students.

Michael Creech is the Information Technology director on campus -- he says after they put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, they decided to go even further.

"Instead of putting those old bulletin boards back up that students weren't really paying attention to, it'd be a great time to install some digital signage," Creech said.

Creech says they've installed 5 of the informative digital screens throughout campus -- and more are on their way.

They help advertise things going on at the school -- and they even tell the weather!

In one of the labs, they have what's called a "smart board."

Jacksonville College has actually had it for about 10 years, but they've just added some new bells and whistles to it.

Freshman Paul Vess uses the brand new software in his writing class to get the professor's help on papers.

"If something's going wrong or I can't figure out how to write it, she can access my screen from her computer...and she can tell me what I'm doing wrong or she can help me word it correctly," Vess said.

And the monitors pop up from the desks so students can maintain eye level with the instructor while they're working.

Creech says the students are loving the school's new facelift.

"The kids are more proud of this building now, this is one of the older buildings on campus and this renovation had just gave it new life basically," Creech said.
