Jacksonville is prepping for the feral hog onslaught

(KETK) - Jacksonville Tx — The feral hog infestation continues here in East Texas.
But, one city has been working to keep them at bay, as much as possible.
City officials in Jacksonville are starting there first hog trapping of the year.
They tell KETK they got between 15 and 20 adult hogs last year.
But the infestation continues to grow, which is why, along with traps set up in public parks such as Nichols Green, the city is also offering traps to be set up on residential property as well.
Ben Briley, Jacksonville parks and recreation director, tells KETK they are trying to catch the hogs in more rural areas, before they become a bigger problem closer to the town.
