SMITH COUNTY- Smith County Commissioners will get the final report on Monday, from a planning consultant about the new jail proposal.
Commissioner's will find out how much it will cost to run the new jail, if voters approve it on November 6th.
The proposed plan, includes an 11-hundred bed jail, that will be built on Broadway and Elm streets in Tyler.
Also included, will be a new Justice Center building for law enforcement, and some courtrooms in the future.
There will also be parking lots and other office buildings included in the plan.
Commissioner's say, the plan, could also bring a taste of Smith County history.
A "clock tower" element could be used to tie the three parts of the proposed jail and justice center together.
The actual clock is from the courthouse in 1909.
It could potentially be dusted off, repaired and installed.
There's one item that won't be on the agenda for Monday's meeting.
It concerns how property owners will be billed for the entire cost.
The price-tag so far, is at 125-million dollars.
Getting the millions of dollars for the jail financed, could change how much taxpayers in Smith County will have to shell out in the end.
Like any loan, paying it back over 20 years or 25 years means a difference in interest.
Smith county comissioners have yet to decide on the issue.
