"Because it's Grade 3, it's aggressive and I'm young-- Chemo was the best choice for me."

Last week, we shared with you a personal story from the KETK family.

For the last five months, our friend and main anchor Jennifer Kielman has been battling aggressive Stage 1 Breast Cancer.

It's a long process for any family dealing with the disease.

Jennifer,

Take care and know that you have a lot of people praying for you besides me and my husband. When I had breast cancer and went through chemo, my favorite poem, "Footprints in the Sand" was my inspiration. This poem, originally written by Mary Stevenson, became my testimony as well... God is carrying you through this journey to battle and destroy all of your cancer. May God bless you! Dotty Ragan.

You are correct in saying that everyones journey is different. You being a public figure helps to put this disease in the light. Research has come a very long way in fighting this disease. Early detection is the key. I was diagnosed last year and have completed reconstruction and chemo. I know that I reached out to God and he gave me peace for my present life and the future. HOPE is a small word with a very large meaning. My hope for you is a good report and healing.

Jenn,

You are an amazing inspiration to all. Your bravery and courage through this and sharing it with the public shows how compassionate and caring you really are. Many prayers are lifted up for you and your family daily. Keep your chin high and you will beat this.

God Bless you,
Cee

Jennifer, I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 31. That was in 1976 - 35 years ago! Early detection and aggressive treatment are the solution. So happy you went through with the surgery and the chemo. I know how difficult it has been. But you will be so thankful for it when you, like me, are 65 years old and enjoying good health. Stay positive, and may God bless you.

Jenn...
I have watched you go through your journey with this beast that they call breast cancer. I found out a couple of weeks ago that I have Stage 1 ductal cancer,non-agressive in my left breast, but where it is located they recommend a mastectomy. So therefore,I am having a double mastectomy. Dr. Kumar said that she is 90% sure that I will have to take chemo. We will survive this. Will have surgery in one week (2/25/11). Hope to hear back from you. Take care and trust God.
