Junior Achievement’s 23rd Annual Bowling for Scholars Bowl-A-Thon is set for April 26-28, 2013 at Green Acres Bowl in Tyler.

The event is a fundraiser for Junior Achievement of Tyler.

Teams of four people must be willing to play two games.

There is no cost to enter, but each bowler must collect at least $50 in pledges. Each person who gives $10 gets a chance to win a television or a Kindle Fire.

Prizes will be given away at the event and the grand prize is a vacation for two with airfare and a two-night stay.

The Bowl-A-Thon raises money for the materials used in and the operation of the Junior Achievement classes.

Volunteers present the organization’s program to students to help them learn about financial literacy, workplace readiness and entrepreneurship, the statement reads. For more information or to provide a donation call 903-581-7482.

The core purpose of Junior Achievement is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. The JA programs provide relevant, hands-on experiences that give students knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Junior Achievement will teach these principals to over 3,500 Tyler area K-12th grade students in 172 classrooms this year through age-appropriate and interactive programs and activities. Since 1988, Junior Achievement in Tyler has impacted over 90,000 area students.
