The Kilgore Art Film Festival opened its spring line-up Wednesday with a gala reception and the first of six films — “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” — at the 4 Star Cinema on Hwy 259.

The spy thriller, “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” runs today through April 28 and stars Gary Oldman in the role of George Smiley, an espionage veteran who comes out of semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within Britain's MI6. Set in 1973 during the Cold War, this is the film version of John le Carre's classic.

“Albert Nobbs” runs Sunday through Tuesday. Glenn Close stars in the title role about a woman passing as a man to work and survive in 19th century Ireland.

“A Dangerous Method” runs May 2 through May 5. This is the story of Dr. Carl Jung played by Michael Fassenbender and his mentor, Sigmund Freud – played by Viggo Mortensen, as they work on a difficult case together that involved a young woman, Sabina Spielrun played by Keira Knightly.
