Kilgore College Workforce Development will offer an early childhood workshop on “Literacy through Music” on Saturday, July 14.

The popular eight-hour course will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in KC’s Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center in Kilgore.

The cost is $35 and continuing education units will be awarded.

The class is limited to 20 and seats are available first-come, first-serve.

“Literacy through Music” will be taught by Jo Beth Reeves who has a master’s degree in early childhood education and who was a kindergarten classroom teacher for thirty years.

The workshop is appropriate for professional child care providers, mother’s day out and Sunday school teachers, as well as moms and dads.

Creative ideas for lessons will focus on helping very young children learn to listen, write and read.
