Kilgore College offers free safety courses

Kilgore, TX — The courses are provided at no cost to students through the KC Workforce Development’s Risk Management Institute which is funded by a grant from Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
All courses are free but advance registration is required.
Classes will be held in Kilgore at the Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center.

Courses include:
Conducting Safety Audits is an eight-hour class scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Wednesday, July 10-11.
Heat Emergencies is an eight-hour class scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Wednesday, July 17-18.
10-Hour OSHA General Industry is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on two Saturdays, July 21 and July 28. Participants must attend both classes. The deadline to register is Friday, July 13. Students will receive OSHA cards and a free copy of “1910 OSHA Standards for General Industry.”
Aerial Lifts and Elevating Platforms is an eight-hour class scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Wednesday, July 24-25.
Drug and Alcohol Awareness for Supervisors is an eight-hour class scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Wednesday through Thursday, Aug. 1-2.
H2S is an eight-hour course scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Wednesday, Aug. 7-8.
Confined Space/Gas Detection/Meters is an eight-hour course scheduled 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday through Friday, Aug. 9-10.
30-Hour OSHA General Industry is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 14-17. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, Aug. 7. Attendance on all days is mandatory. Students will receive OSHA cards and a free copy of “1910 OSHA Standards for General Industry.”
Leadership and Management Skills for Safety Supervisors is an eight-hour course scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Wednesday, Aug. 21-22.
