With the inception of Ranger Softball coming his fall, the new team on campus will need lockers in its locker room.

The Kilgore College Office of Development and the KC Athletic Department are giving potential fans the opportunity to purchase lockers in honor or memory of family members or friends.

Each locker is $500. The lockers will be located in the temporary locker room in the Parks Fitness Center until a new fieldhouse can be built.

“Once we have a designated field and fieldhouse for the players, the lockers will be moved to their new home,” said Leah Gorman, director of development.

Each locker will have a permanent marker on the front that displays the name of the donor, or the person (or persons) that the locker has been donated in honor or memory of.

“This is a perfect gift for Father’s Day, which is just around the corner,” Gorman said. “We only have 25 opportunities for locker purchases for softball, so once they are sold, they are sold.”

Gorman said getting the lockers donated is the first phase of what is being called the “Field of Dreams Project.”

Phase two is to raise money to build a practice facility and fieldhouse; and phase three is the construction of KC’s own softball field.
