KILGORE — Kilgore Police tell KETK, they arrested Chad Appleton around 5:00 pm on July 4, 2012, after identifying him as a suspect in a theft from Walmart in Kilgore.

Appleton was captured by surveillance video allegedly walking into Walmart, grabbing a chainsaw, and then walking out without paying.

After identifying him, police issued a warrant. Appleton had previous theft convictions, so the charge was increased to felony theft.

He had been banned from that store in the past, so was also charged with criminal trespass.
