Longview, TX — A 29-year-old Kilgore man is in custody on a Panola County warrant for sexual assault.

Byron James Johnson was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Monday by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on FM 1252 in Gregg County. According to court records, a Panola County grand jury has indicted Johnson of sexual assault.

He remained in the Gregg County Jail on $50,000 bond Tuesday afternoon. No other details about the charges were available
