Kilgore, Tx (KETK) — The Kilgore man who was shot by a Kilgore fire marshal early Saturday morning is said to be in stable condition.
Kilgore Fire Department and Kilgore Rescue responded to a house fire Saturday morning at the 1500 block of peach Street in Kilgore around 1:00 a.m.
When rescuers arrived at the scene the house was completely engulfed in flames. While fire fighters were attempting to extinguish the fire, Kenny Wayne Davlin, 39, of Kilgore, was allegedly walking in the middle of the street while holding a hand gun behind his back.
Witnesses say Davlin appeared to be very intoxicated and soon got into a fight with his wife who was trying to take the weapon from him and get him back into their nearby house.
Kilgore Fire Marshal Brandon Bigos tried to break up the fight and arrest Kenny Davlin but Davlin ran into his home. Davlin then allegedly came back out of the residence armed with an AR-15 rifle which he pointed at Kilgore fire fighters who were still attempting to put out the fire.
Fire fighters then took cover behind the fire truck and Kenny Davlin was then shot by Fire Marshall Bigos. Davlin was then transported to a local hospital.
The incident is currently being investigated by Kilgore Police Department and Texas Rangers.
Criminal charges for Davlin are currently pending as reasons for his behavior have not yet been determined.
