The Kilgore Police Department will be out in force this 4th of July weekend targeting drunk drivers. If you choose to drink and drive, within the City of Kilgore, you will go to jail.

The Kilgore Police Department maintains a zero tolerance policy in regards to DWI enforcement. Drunk driving is not a choice it’s a crime. This weekend has been declared a “No Refusal” weekend.

This means if you are stopped for drunk driving and refuse to provide a blood or breathe specimen, an immediate search warrant will be sought and a blood specimen obtained through the warrant.


Every year, well over 1,000 Texans are killed as a result of impaired drivers. Texas is frequently ranked as the nation’s deadliest for impaired driving fatalities. Last year, at least 1,235 people died on our roads as a result of impaired driving.


The Kilgore Police Department is committed to lowering deaths and injuries resulting from drunk driving. The safety of our citizens and community is paramount. The Kilgore Police Department wants everyone to have a safe and fun 4th of July weekend. Bottom line is don’t drink and drive.
