Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Kilgore High School students will perform the play " Her Senior Year," with a story line hitting very close to home.

The students are rallying together to support one of their own; sweet, caring Lynzee Ford who is battling leukemia.

Nashaiya Hawkins says she misses Lynzee in class.

" A really good friend..she's very sweet and kind..she's funny..she's a good person to be around."

Lynzee is currently being treated at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

Amanda Landeche agrees, school isn't the same without Lynzee.

" She always had a smile on her face..she'd always tell me I look cute."

The plot of "Her Senior Year" focuses on a high school senior diagnosed with leukemia.

Theater Director Keith Proctor says after hearing Lynzee's diagnosis he chose to use the play for a valuable lesson.

" Telling the comes with bumps in the road. Look up, look forward..don't let things get you down."

Admission to the play is free but donations are accepted. All proceeds raised will go towards Lynzee's treatment.

Classmates say they're inspired to see their campus join together.

Brianna Copeland says,  "I'm really proud of them for raising all this money for her that she needs..and it will help her out."

Students want Lynzee to know she's on their mind.

Copeland says" I hope you feel better, we are thinking about you..we miss you.."
