They were the kings of basketball two years ago.

Now, King's Academy wants to wear the championship crown again.

The Knights have won their way back to the state tournament.

The team from Tyler worked hard all season long.

"We played against some really challenging schools," said King's Academy coach Dave Nedbalek.  "We went against the bigger schools, All Saints and Bishop Gorman."

"We really pushed ourselves that way," Nedbalek added.

The Knights will play in the state semifinals Thursday evening at 6:00 against Houston's School of the Woods at University High in Waco.

King's Academy goes into the state tournament as the top-ranked team in the Texas Christian Athletic League.
