Lake Jacksonville: Dredged and restocked with thousands of new fish
LAKE JACKSONVILLE - Low lake levels aren't stopping some from trying to improve the conditions at Lake Jacksonville.
Crews have spent the last several days dredging boat ramps in the area to allow boaters a safe way into the water without bottoming out.
In addition, we're told two-thousand large mouth bass were brought in to restock the lake.
We're told, these fish are a little larger than what is usually used to restock a lake, and that's for good reason.
Richard Ott, with Texas Parks and Wildlife tells KETK, "We could waste a lot of real little small fish out here but right now because we've got these larger fish, it just gives us an opportunity to do something for the anglers."
