Hundreds of East Texans and pets filled the Villages Marina at Lake Palestine on Saturday, May 24th for the 7th Annual Lake Palestine Palooza.

The event was free and donations were collected throughout the day for our furry friends. It was a fun filled day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Our radio partners 95.3/102.3 The Breeze and H&W Marine presents the big bash benefiting Pets Fur People, a local no-kill animal shelter in Tyler. The Breeze radio personalities tell us this is a great family event for the Memorial Weekend.

Director Gayle Helms of Pets Fur People says this event is so heartwarming. "We are going to raise a lot of money this year and raise awareness for Pets Fur People."

There were several vendor booths, delicious food, games, kids activities, a big music line-up, shopping and boat show.

The weather was nice and warm, folks took out their boats and pets got in the water.

Helms says, she hopes this event will continue for many more years because it makes such a difference and is so thankful for all the supporters. She says, it so great to see people express so much love for pets.

The article earlier this week said that a portion of the proceeds would go to the shelter, I would just like to know what percentage do they keep and what goes to the shelter.
