The environmental protection agency denied a petition calling for a ban on lead in ammunition but fishing tackle is another story. The outcry from the national rifle association may have put the lead ban on ammo to a halt.Now, we're told the focus has turned to fishing tackle.

Last week the EPA shot down the petition of removing lead in ammunition after critics railed against the idea. As of now, they are still looking at your fishing tackle but, if the ban does pass, that leaves only one option for anglers -- tungsten. Experts say if the ban happens consumers can expect to pay a heavy price to purchase tungsten weights versus their lead counterparts.
