WiFi signs have gone up in places like McDonald's Starbuck's and other local Tyler businesses. It means laptop lovers can come in and hook up to the Internet wirelessly.
"I'm on there like four to five hours at a time during the day," said Kelly Lyon an Internet fan.
With this trend the city of Tyler is now jumping on board with this WiFi hype.
"As the city grows...we're always looking at to see if we should be providing more services to our citizen," said Benny Yazdanpanahi who's with Tyler's Information Technology.
City Hall, the library, airport, and Harvey Hall Convention now have the WiFi connection. I's a service the city says they've strategically placed throughout town.
"City Hall is a good example...like when we have council chamber...when people are coming in for the council meeting...so we can have that," said Yazdanpanahi.
Now there is a WiFi hotspot locator available in just about any local electronic store for about 15 dollars, so if you're on the road and looking for a place to hook up...just hold it out and the light will will turn green once you hit a wireless spot.
In case you're wondering if the city plans to go completely WiFi in the near future, it's not likely.
The city says it would interfere with local businesses and other signals.
