At the White House press conference Tuesday morning, President Bush spoke much about these high energy prices...saying America needs to start drilling on their own soil.

"Starting with ANWAR, and we can do so in an environmentally friendly way," said President Bush.

U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert from Tyler agrees and blames democrats and speculators for high gas prices.

"If Palosi and Reid were to announce today that we were going after ANWAR...that we were going to drill to OC it...that would continental shelf...then that speculation would start going the other way...we'd see a 25% drop," said Gohmert.

Some Democrats disagree.

"The oil companies have huge profits that they need to explain before we start going and drilling in environmentally protected areas like Alaska, said Democratic spokesperson, Karen Roberts.

Meanwhile Americans like business owner Jamal Sulaiman continue to feel the effects.

"A customer that use to have 20 bucks in their pocket and get 15 bucks for gas and get 5 dollars for something to eats...now the eating part is disappearing," said Sulaiman.
