LeTourneau students help develop wheelchairs for disabled people in Kenya
Longview — A group of LeTourneau University students left Wednesday for Kenya on a mission to help make the road of life a little smoother for people with mobility issues.
Four students in the Wheels Project, led by Professor Karen Rispin and physical therapist Kirs Rieling, will conduct research on wheelchair users at a boarding school in Thika.
Accompanying them in his own wheelchair is 11-year-old Longview native Connor Tinsley, who has spina bifida, a condition in which there is an opening in the spinal cord.
