tyler, tx — Both of the political conventions are over-- thank goodness!
Back in the old days, there was a reason for the conventions. Deals were being made. VP candidates were being considered.
Now, it's just balloons dropping and the same 'ol stuff we always hear just with a prettier backdrop.
All that being said, here's what we need to be focusing on...the economy.
This morning the new numbers came out. The unemployment figures were down to 8.1% from 8.3%.
But it dropped because the unemployment rate is figured by how many people are looking for work.
Yes, 0.2% had stopped looking for work. Only 96,000 jobs had been created.
The news, no matter how you try and paint it or spin it, is not good.
Both sides can wax eloquent , but we have big trouble.
We can promise this and that and talk about how good a parent the candidate is, but if we don't get America back to work, everything else will not matter.
368,000 people just quit looking for jobs. 43 straight months of unemployment above 8%.
I tell you who needs a bailout. The United States of America.
Are we not to big to fail? Forget party line. Forget shot-term political games.
We must get this nation back on track. If not, it's incomprehensible to think about.
That's my point of view what's yours?
