Longview, TX (KETK) — Tax season has begun and some Letourneau University accounting students are helping low income familes file their taxes for free. 

From now until April 14 about a dozen LETU students will participate in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

The program offers free tax returns for families earning less than $57,000 in the Longview area.

Those wanting to take advantage of the program can get their taxes done Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. or Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 (noon). The program is being held at 1230 South High Street.
