LETU to feature author, activist Mark Scandrette in Chapel Sept. 10

Longview, TX — LeTourneau University will feature author and activist Mark Scandrette to speak in chapel at 10:50 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Avenue.
His first book, Soul Graffitti: Making a Life in the Way of Jesus, came out in 2007. He is currently working on his second book and consults for CONSPIRE Magazine.
Scandrette is also a teacher, consultant, activist and the founding director of ReIMAGINE, a group that invites people into integrative spiritual experiments and practices, (with an emphasis on creativity, community building and social action).
Deeply inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, Scandrette is passionate and hopeful about this moment, and what it might be for us to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly amidst the complexities of the emerging world we find ourselves in. Each year Scandrette hosts a series of projects, retreats and workshops that explore and inhabit various core themes in the ways of Jesus.
Scandrette travels to teach groups and mentor other leaders who aspire to live and teach an authentic and socially conscious spiritual path. He lives with his wife and three teenage children in an old Victorian home in the Mission District of San Francisco, Calif.
