In celebration of National Engineers Week Feb. 16-22, LeTourneau University will host about 100 local professional engineers as well as about 100 engineering students and faculty from area high schools and colleges to attend the E-Week Banquet Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the Solheim Arena.

Registration begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 for engineers and their guests who pre-register, or $25 at the door. Students and faculty may attend free of charge.

The theme for the E-Week banquet is “Engineering at PING Golf” and will feature John Solheim, CEO of PING Golf. The banquet has been held in the East Texas area since 1960. The group provides scholarships to area students planning to pursue a degree in engineering.

E-week is a national event celebrating the engineering profession and giving students hands-on experience with engineering.

“We welcome the opportunity to host this year’s E-Week banquet at LeTourneau University,” said LETU Dean of Engineering Dr. Ron DeLap. “Our world-class engineering program is a direct result of R.G. LeTourneau’s love for engineering, and his dedication to improving our world through the engineering profession. It is a privilege to carry on his vision as we seek to claim every workplace in every nation for Christ.”
