LETU to open private pilot ground school to community
Longview, TX — LeTourneau University is offering a private pilot ground school to community on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:50 p.m. starting Jan. 10. The class will meet weekly through April 24. The final exam will be the week of April 30. Cost for the course is $109 to audit, approximately $100 for text books and supplies, and $130 for a testing fee for the FAA written exam.
“If getting a pilot’s license was on someone’s list of new year’s resolutions, then this is a great opportunity to start that,” said Lauren Bitikofer, chairman of flight science at LETU. “We routinely offer this course for our flight students every semester, but this is the first time we have offered this class in the evenings specifically to make it more accessible to community members.”
The instructor is Brad Wooden, a former captain with Sky West Airlines. Classes will be held in Room 104 of Heath-Hardwick Hall, located at LETU’s main campus at 2100 S. Mobberly in Longview. For more information contact Jon Weber at 903-233-4335 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
